The Time Trial: The race of truth, contre le montre, however you say it. Get on your bike, tuck in
and go as fast as you can over the duration of the course. No drafting, no team strategies, nothing
but you, your mind and body against the elements that conspire to slow you down.
| US Masters TT Championship |
| 5th | Brian Batke |
| 15th | Ray Huang |
Brian and Ray competed in the US Masters 45-49 and 40-44 (respectively) Championships held on Monday,
June 30 in Louisville, KY. Despite the far-from-ideal conditions consisting of rain, wind and much
cooler than usual temperatures, each put in great times. Brian squeaked into a podium / medal position
5th place by a scant 1 second over the 6th place finisher while Ray rode well to score a 15th place
result in his age group.
| OH State TT Championship |
| 3rd | Brian Batke |
| 8th | Ray Huang |
Brian and Ray also competed in the OH State Time Trial championships on June 22. "Batman" came away with
the 3rd best time overall and 3rd in the elite Cat 1/2 category. Ray scorched the course for the 8th
best overall time and a championship 1st place medal in the Masters 40-44 category.
Well done you TT freakazoids!

| Nice June Weekends · 09-Jun-08 |

Garret Wonders Criterium, Race For Alex, Mill Creek Criterium and many other great races have
peppered the calendar for June, 2008.
Many thanks to the guys at MVC for putting on the Race For Alex and Mill Creet Crit. Each race
is very enjoyable and all us racer types appreciate the effort.
At Race For Alex (results here), Tris, Brian and Ray all doubled-up for the day racing in both the Masters 40-49 and
Category 2/3 events. Ray and Tris took 1st and 2nd in the Masters 40-49 race.
Tris then found himself in the winning move of the Category 2/3 race and hung on for 3rd.
The following weekend, Brian and Tris doubled-up again at the Mill Creek Crit on an super-hot-n-humid day
for 50 laps around the challenging circuit. Brian helped from the lead 3-man break while Tris bided his
time to eventually jump away from the field to form another 3-man group between the leaders and the
remaining peloton. Brian ended up 3rd and Tris 6th.
Ray joined the duo for the Category 2/3 and attacked to form the winning break after attacks by Tris
and Brian "softened" up the field. Ray powered the break and finished 3rd while Brian
and Tris finished with the field.

| Batke 3rd At Tour de Frankenmuth · 24-May-08 |
|
Brian Batke brought home an impressive third place result at the Tour de Frankenmuth. Though a
fairly flat course, it was made difficult by strong winds and a very competitive field. Brian
scratched and clawed his way around as breaks & echelons formed. Finally bridging across to
a group that stayed clear to the end. Great job Brian!

Oh yeah, it's been 2008 for quite some time now. Maybe I should update this web site more often :).
Here's something that should be apparent to anyone that has been racing this year: Races are faster
and harder than ever!
